A dietitian administered a 'Food Frequency' and 'Food Habits' questionnaire and a dietary history interview. Results: Students who spoke a language other than English, consumed a traditional or mixed dietary pattern, with lower consumption of saturated fat, compared to students who spoke English only. Saturated fat intake increased and fibre intake decreased with length of time in Australia. Intake of foods high in saturated or trans fatty acids were positively associated with length of stay in Australia. No associations between nutrient intake or whole food intake and self-reported wheeze were observed. Conclusion: As time progressed, dietary intake of immigrant children changed. While this was not associated with the development of wheeze in the students in this cohort, these changes are likely to have negative health consequences.]]> Wed 11 Apr 2018 11:16:19 AEST ]]> Energy and macronutrient intakes in preschool children in urban areas of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:4364 Wed 11 Apr 2018 10:45:00 AEST ]]> Poor food and nutrient intake among Indigenous and non-Indigenous rural Australian children https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:15182 Wed 11 Apr 2018 10:23:43 AEST ]]> The utility of delivery ward register data for determining the causes of perinatal mortality in one specialized and one general hospital in south Ethiopia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45378 Thu 27 Oct 2022 16:12:15 AEDT ]]> Impact of the ActTeens Program on physical activity and fitness in adolescents: a cluster randomized controlled trial https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:56169 Mon 12 Aug 2024 09:57:38 AEST ]]> Determinants of stunting and severe stunting among under-fives in Tanzania: evidence from the 2010 cross-sectional household survey https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:26406 Mon 09 Oct 2023 14:51:15 AEDT ]]> Stunting and severe stunting among children under-5 years in Nigeria: a multilevel analysis https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30993 Mon 09 Oct 2023 14:50:43 AEDT ]]> The association between birth weight and proxy-reported health-related quality of life among children aged 5 − 10 years old: A linked data analysis https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:49944 Fri 16 Jun 2023 11:15:41 AEST ]]>
